How to Play Spikeball
Playing Spikeball is relatively simple, making it accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to play:
-
Set up the net: Begin by assembling the Spikeball net on a flat surface, such as a lawn or beach. Ensure that the net is taut and has no slack
-
Form teams: Divide players into two teams of two. Each team will take turns serving and defending.
-
Serve the ball: The game starts with a serve. One player from the serving team stands next to the net, holding the ball. They hit or drop the ball onto the net, causing it to rebound towards the opposing team
-
Return the ball: Once the ball is served, the opposing team has three touches to return it back onto the net. Each player can touch the ball only once before passing it to a teammate.
-
Keep it going: The rally continues as teams alternate hitting the ball onto the net. The objective is to strategically position the ball in a way that makes it challenging for the opposing team to return it.
-
Scoring: Points are awarded when the opposing team fails to return the ball onto the net within three touches or if they hit the ball out of bounds. The first team to reach 21 points with a minimum lead of two points wins the game.
